Anita Roberts – I thought that the assembly with you was fabulous! You kept all the children engaged the entire time and had great teaching strategies to keep them focussed on you and their drawing. You made it simple for everyone to be successful, including me! When the kids went back to the classroom, they continued to draw the animals that you had shown them. I would definitely recommend you to other teachers and have already told some of my teacher pals at other schools about you.
Kelly Borden – I’m a substitute teacher for the Escondido School District. On Wednesday I worked for a first grade teacher at Felicita Elementary School. My class attended your assembly and had a wonderful time! I was very impressed with your presentation and was happy that my class could make it a part of their day. You did a tremendous job of keeping the attention of the students; the techniques that you used worked so well that I’m sure that a teacher or two will be copying them for a while to come!
My students all came back to the classroom feeling successful and happy to have done something creative. After recess I had the students write about their favorite drawing, building on a previous lesson in describing a character. The timing for the assembly was perfect – our first graders had their Open House the next day so I had them save their drawings and stories to share with their parents when they visited the classroom that night.
